Welcome to the Little Explorer's Nursery!
Wishing you a very warm welcome from our Nursery team.
Here at OA Little Explorers, our family of staff passionately strive to make sure that our children have the best possible start in their education.
We endeavour to make sure that staff, children, and their parents or carers, all work together to create a high-quality Early Years environment which is welcoming, safe, inspiring and, is a place where children can grow in confidence and become life-long active learners.
Please watch the video below to see how the Early Years Curriculum is incorporated into all areas of our play, games, and activities. This helps to ensure that our children are happy and have fun while learning.
We have up to 60 part or full-time places for 3-4 year-olds in our Nursery.
All children, the term after they turn three are eligible to 15 hours of free Nursery provision. For the pre-school cohort year group, we provide this from 9:00- 12:00 every morning, with an opening window from 8:40-9:00 for you to drop off your child.
For children who turn 3 between 1st September and 31st March, they are able to join our Pre-School as a Rising 3 the term after they turn three. Their sessions run every afternoon from 12:15-3:15 with an opening window from 12:05 for you to drop off your child.
Full-time provision is from 9:00- 3:15. The opening window to drop off your child is from 8:40 and the opening window for you to collect your child is from 3:00.
Wrap around care
Should you require a wraparound care in the morning, our school offers a Breakfast club for the cost of £2.50 per session. Doors open from 8:00 for this provision.
Wrap-around after school care is provided by outside organisations. For further information, please ask a member of staff.
We do request for all our children to attend daily, whether it be for the part-time or full-time provision. This is so your child can have every opportunity to practise and embed all the learning targets across the areas of learning in their age-band.
We also request that parents or carers pick up their children on time. If you are running late or have a problem, do get in touch with us as soon as you can by telephone and we will do our best to support you.
The children start at the academy in a small group, which enables staff to really support them to make relationships. It also helps them to learn the new routines and expectations with us. Many of our children start the September but we also admit children throughout the year. We value every child for their individuality and know that each child will settle into the Academy in their own way, so we work closely together to ensure a smooth transition.
Whilst having a stimulating setting is important, having the right staff is paramount! With this in mind, we are very fortunate to have an exceptional team of 5 highly dedicated Nursery Practitioners in our 3-year-old Nursery team.
Our academy’s SENCo is the Lead teacher with a team of 1 Early Careers Teacher, 1 highly skilled teaching assistant and 2 highly skilled support staff. We also have an experienced Cover Teacher who ensures that we always have a teacher working with our children every lesson of every day. Find out more and meet the team today!
If you have a child who was born between September 1st 2017 and 31st August 2018 then we would love them to join our Nursery in September 2021.
